E-Patashale in leaf schools
CLT has used ICT tools very effectively at the main Learning Center at the Jakkur government school catering to 1000 children to strengthen their ongoing programs. CLT has scaled this program with 40 government village schools in partnership with the Department of Education, Karnataka State.
In keeping with the essence of the CLT model, an overlay of CLT digital network is weaved into the existing social structure. Used PCs from the IT sector are converted into powerful tools for government school teachers to access support & reference materials to supplement their classroom teaching and bring in qualitative difference in their pedagogical practices.
Here, the focus is to create an environment that enables teachers to creatively and actively engage children in the process of learning.
e-Patashala is about -
- Technology-Aided Teaching
- Sharing best pedagogical practices through -
* Teachers' workshops
* Live recorded videos of best teaching practices
* Hands-on on-site support for teachers
- Relevant digitized content in local language to support curricula-based teaching
- Setting up Hubs - mini-knowledge centers in their respective Cluster Resource Centers
- Creating a knowledge-sharing platform for government school teachers
The e-Patashale is integrated into conventional school system. It is an intervention program aimed to enable teachers & the Cluster Resource Centers to reach some of their objectives.
The teachers participate in creation of content, which would be accessible through the teachers' Network to other government schools.
In a nutshell -
- Children will have access to quality education.
- Teachers will have access to quality content in local language based on local contexts.
The teachers are empowered with choices available to create their own lesson plans and augment their teaching skills.
